TRAINING WORKSHOPS

1. Training programme on Basic Course on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management. This training programme shall be conducted in the country which would be first to complete its Training Need Analysis as per template to be developed by the Centre. The course design, module and study materials shall be developed according to the hazard-risk-vulnerability profile and training need analysis of the country. These can subsequently be adopted by the designated training institutions of the country for further down end training programmes. The programme shall be of one week duration and shall be attended by a minimum of twenty-five and maximum of thirty participants who would be drawn from various government or non-government organizations engaged in the task of disaster risk reduction and management. The programme shall be hosted in a leading training institute in the concerned country to be selected in consultation with the National Focal Point of the concerned country.
2. A five-day long Training Workshop for Senior Government Functionaries of all the South Asian Countries shall be held in New Delhi. This would focus mainly on the issues of regional cooperation on disaster risk reduction and management. The programme shall have participation of three senior officers from each country.
